We built GymPact to make it easier for people everywhere to live healthy, active lives. Since launching in January 2012, we've received massive media attention and user uptake. But we're just getting started. And we need your help.

Chief Architect

About You

  • You love writing scalable, elegant, idiomatic software.
  • You have a history of shipping products. You know where to draw the line between "good enough" and "perfect!"
  • You lead by example and know how to bring the best out of your teammates.
  • You've already experienced life in the startup trenches… and love the challenge and freedom of solving open-ended problems.
  • You want your code to make a real difference in the lives of users (e.g. not just sell advertising units).

Key Responsibilities

  • Take charge of growing and scaling GymPact's current Ruby on Rails / MySQL / Heroku backend and API.
  • Work alongside our sharp, capable team of developers and designers to implement features and make improvements.
  • Plan and implement solid foundations for future greenfield projects.
  • Help set development convensions and processess as we grow our team.

Requirements

  • A strong background in Ruby on Rails and a love of relevant web technologies.
  • Combat-tested experience wrangling with and writing scalable APIs.
  • A BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science or (better yet) equivalent work experience.
  • Bonus: Developed/dabbled in Objective C or Android.
  • Bonus: Held a senior technology role at a previous startup, or started your own.

Android Developer

About You

  • You have strong opinions about why Android is amazing and can talk for hours about Jelly Bean.
  • You care deeply about user experience and design. You know that to most users, the interface IS the product.
  • You've already published an app or three in the Google Play Store.
  • You've already experienced life in the startup trenches… and/or love the challenge and freedom of solving open-ended problems.
  • You want your code to make a real difference in the lives of users (e.g. not just sell advertising slots).

Key Responsibilities

  • Take ownership of our current Android appling and grow it into a fully-fledged, remarkable app.
  • Work alongside our sharp, capable team of developers and designers to implement features and make improvements.

Requirements

  • A strong background in Android development and a love for mobile technology
  • A BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science or (better yet) equivalent work experience
  • Bonus: Developed/dabbled in Objective C or Ruby on Rails
  • Bonus: Held a technology role at a previous startup, or started your own
